It's that time of the year again — Garena dropped the OB53 patch for Free Fire, and right on cue, VIP Proxy Server rolled out its own OB53 update to match. If you've been using older versions of the tool, you might have already noticed some issues with connections or slower loading times. The good news is that the OB53 version fixes all of that and then some.
In this post, we're going to walk you through everything that changed in the latest VIP Proxy Server update — from the reworked anti-ban engine to the new server nodes — so you know exactly what you're getting before you hit that download button.
Quick Summary — OB53 Highlights
- Rebuilt anti-ban engine with behavioural masking layer
- 2 new server regions: Singapore and São Paulo
- Auto-region selector picks the lowest ping automatically
- Ping reduced to under 8ms on supported regions
- Battery usage cut by approximately 30%
- Fixed the random disconnect bug that affected OB52 users
- Cleaner dark UI with smoother animations
The Anti-Ban Engine Got a Full Rebuild
This is easily the biggest change in OB53. The previous anti-ban system worked by masking your IP address, which was fine for most situations — but Garena's security team has been getting smarter with each update. They started flagging accounts based on unusual traffic patterns rather than just IPs.
The new OB53 anti-ban engine goes a step further. It now includes a behavioural masking layer that makes your proxy traffic look identical to regular Free Fire traffic. Essentially, from Garena's side, it's impossible to distinguish a VIP Proxy Server connection from a completely normal one. This is a huge deal — it means your account is significantly better protected than it was with OB52 or earlier versions.
In our internal testing over two weeks with multiple accounts, zero bans were recorded. That's a track record we're proud of, but as always, we recommend using the tool responsibly.
Two New Server Regions: Singapore & São Paulo
VIP Proxy Server now connects to 8 server regions in total. The two newcomers — Singapore and São Paulo — were by far the most requested by our community, and it's easy to see why.
| Region | Average Ping | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore 🇸🇬 (New) | < 6ms | Southeast Asia players |
| São Paulo 🇧🇷 (New) | < 9ms | South American players |
| Mumbai 🇮🇳 | < 8ms | India & South Asia |
| Frankfurt 🇩🇪 | < 7ms | Europe & Middle East |
| Los Angeles 🇺🇸 | < 10ms | North America |
| Tokyo 🇯🇵 | < 7ms | East Asia |
| Dubai 🇦🇪 | < 9ms | Gulf region |
| Sydney 🇦🇺 | < 11ms | Australia & Oceania |
Auto-Region Selector — No More Guessing
One of the more frustrating parts of older versions was that you had to manually pick your server region. If you picked the wrong one, your ping would actually be worse than without the proxy. Not ideal.
OB53 introduces an Auto-Region Selector that runs a quick latency test to all 8 servers the moment you open the app, then automatically locks in on the one with the lowest ping for your current location. It takes about 3 seconds and you never have to think about it again. You can still override it manually if you prefer — the option is right there in the settings — but honestly, the auto-selector is surprisingly accurate.
Battery & Performance Improvements
Running a proxy in the background used to eat a noticeable chunk of your battery. In OB52, it wasn't uncommon for users with mid-range phones to see 15–20% extra drain during long sessions. In OB53, the background process has been completely rewritten in a leaner architecture.
In our testing on three different mid-range Android devices (Redmi Note 12, Samsung A34, and Realme Narzo 60), battery drain was reduced by an average of 31% compared to OB52. That might not sound massive but when you're three hours into a ranked session, it really adds up.
RAM usage also dropped — OB53 sits at around 42MB on average versus 68MB for OB52. Good news if you're playing on a device with 3–4GB of RAM.
Bug Fixes Worth Mentioning
OB52 had a handful of issues that drove people crazy. The most reported one was a random disconnect that would kick you out of the proxy mid-game — right when you were about to win a firefight, of course. This has been fully resolved in OB53.
A few other smaller fixes that are worth noting:
- The app no longer crashes on Android 5.0 and 5.1 devices when connecting to the Frankfurt server.
- The connection timeout has been increased from 8 seconds to 15 seconds, eliminating false "connection failed" errors on slower networks.
- The notification that appeared on the status bar during gaming (which could be seen in screenshots and streams) has been made invisible by default.
How to Update to OB53
Updating is straightforward. There's no automatic update system — you download the new APK and install it over your existing version. Your settings and preferences are preserved.

Final Thoughts
The OB53 update isn't just a compatibility patch — it's a genuine improvement across the board. The anti-ban rebuild alone makes it worth upgrading, and the two new server regions plus the auto-selector make it the most user-friendly version we've shipped. If you're still on OB52 or earlier, there's no reason to wait.
